Description:

The Messages Box app can only be used in conjunction with the DigiD app. The DigiD app must be installed on the same device, and you use the pin code from the DigiD app to open the Messages Box app.

With the app, you have access to the inbox, archive, and trash of your Messages Box on MijnOverheid (MyGovernment). You can read messages and move them to the archive or trash. If a message has an attachment, you can forward, save, or open it in another app. In the app, you can see which new organizations have started using the Messages Box and indicate whether these organizations are allowed to send digital mail to you. Currently, it is not yet possible to adjust your preferences for organizations that are already connected. For this, you can log in to the website mijn.overheid.nl.

DATA PROCESSING & PRIVACY

When you use the Messages Box app from MijnOverheid (MyGovernment), certain personal data is processed. During login, your Citizen Service Number (BSN) is sent via DigiD to MijnOverheid. To display the data from your MijnOverheid account in the Messages Box app, a notification token, a user token, and an encrypted token are used.
By using the Messages Box app, you agree to this processing, which is also subject to the following provisions.

<li>The user's personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the privacy statement on the website of MijnOverheid (mijn.overheid.nl/privacy). Rules on the processing of personal data by MijnOverheid are included in the Decision processing personal data generic digital infrastructure. Rules on the operation, security, and reliability of MijnOverheid are included in the Regulation GDI facilities (mijn.overheid.nl/wet-en-regelgeving).</li>
<li>MijnOverheid (part of Logius) has implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures against loss or unlawful processing of the user's personal data.</li>
<li>The Messages Box app complies with security measures that are comparable to the security measures of the MijnOverheid website. The Messages Box app also uses the security mechanisms of the operating system.</li>
<li>The user is responsible for the security of their mobile device.</li>
<li>For the Messages Box app, updates can be downloaded and installed via the app store from time to time. These updates are intended to improve, expand, or further develop the Messages Box app and may consist of bug fixes, advanced features, new software modules, or complete new versions. Without these updates, it is possible that the Messages Box app will not function properly.</li>
<li>MijnOverheid (part of Logius) reserves the right to discontinue offering the Messages Box app in the app store or to temporarily suspend its operation without giving any reasons.</li>
</ul>
